I will introduce my favorite film, The Devil Wears Prada. Anne Hathaway plays this film’s main character Andrea, and at the beginning of the film she works as an assistant for a magazine called Runway. Her boss Miranda is a legendary chief editor and is pretty strict with everyone on staff. Andrea is not respected by her co-workers so she is dissatisfied. This is because she thinks their work is unimportant and also she does not admire them. At a turning point of this, Andrea has an accident at work and then she begins to change both her mind and her behavior. Over time, Miranda and her colleagues rely on her. Although many people may not like Miranda, you might come to like her once you realize her smile. Since I first watched this movie when I was 11 years old, I have loved it; especially their many outfits. That was the start of my interest in English. These days, I try watching movies in English with English subtitles and have begun to watch other foreign movies. Due to watching these movies, I can increase my vocabulary and practice my listening skills. There are mainly basic words in The Devil Wears Prada, so I recommend it for English beginners. I want to watch movies without subtitles in the future, although it is still difficult. I like dubbed movies as well, but it’s fun to listen to the authentic voices of actors and try to understand the meaning of English sentences.

私のお気に入りの映画「プラダを着た悪魔」について紹介します。この映画には、アンハサウェイが主役のアンドレアとして出演しており、彼女がランウェイと呼ばれる雑誌のアシスタントとして働くところから話が始まります。彼女のボスであるミランダは伝説の編集長だが、スタッフにとても厳しい人です。アンドレアは彼女の同僚に尊重されず、それについて不満を抱いています。この原因は、彼女もまた同僚たちの仕事を重要でなく、認めていないからです。この話の転換点は、アンドレアは仕事で失敗しますが、その後彼女の心も行動も変わり始めていくところです。そして、ミランダと彼女の同僚たちは彼女のことを信頼していきます。多くの人はミランダを好きではないかもしれませんが、彼女の笑顔を見れば好きになるでしょう。初めて映画を見た11歳の時から、私はこの映画を愛しています、特に彼らの衣装が好きです。この映画が、私の英語への興味の始まりでした。最近では、英語字幕で映画を見ることに挑戦しており、他の国も映画も見始めています。これらの映画を見ることで、私は語彙を増やすこと、リスニングスキルを鍛えています。この映画には主に基礎的な単語が使われているので、英語初心者の人たちに薦めたいです。将来、英語字幕なしで映画を見たいと思っていますが、これは未だ私には難しいです。吹き替え版の映画も同様に好きですが、実際の俳優たちの声や英語の文章の意味を理解すること楽しいと思っています。
